You can also use this tool in “test mode of ubuntu live cd mode ” iso where you can install, run and use it after connecting to internet or wife. Show 12 more comments. I’m going to assume that this is a UEFI capable computer. You can use Windows’ dism to backup and restore partitions to a new partition table layout and use the command prompt from latest Windows installation media to reinstall the bootloader, more details on this in the next point.
Since you have been recommended to try various other tools that don’t address your issue you have to revert these changes to a pristine condition, otherwise this will get more and more confusing.

Ben N Downloading this crap modified my default grub and installed an awful one. I partitioned my PC a few months back so it now dual boots with Windows 10 and Ubuntu. Not sure what to do, don’t want to get rid of Grub as Ubuntu doesn’t even show up if I load Windows boot manager on start-up so that’s no use.
