Basic HTML Heading, Paragraph, Link, List, Image and Button

First of all, in this Basic HTML post we will learn the very basic about them just to take a very elementary background. And we will study them later deeply.

Very basic HTML elements


All HTML documents must start with a document type declaration: <!DOCTYPE html>. Also, the HTML document itself begins with <html> and ends with </html>.

The visible part of the HTML document is between <body> and </body>.


HTML headings are defined with the <h1> to <h6> tags.

<h1> defines the most important heading. <h6> defines the least important heading: 

 <h1>Header 1</h1>
 <h2>Header 2</h2>
 <h3>Header 3</h3>


Similarly to heading HTML paragraphs are defined with the <p> tag:

 <p>Simple Paragraph.</p>
<p>Another paragraph.</p> 


HTML links are defined with the <a> tag:

<a href=""></a>

Similarly to the link’s destination is specified in the href attribute. These attributes could be used to provide additional information about HTML elements.

You will learn more about attributes in a later lessons.


HTML images are defined with the <img> tag.The source file (src), alternative text (alt), width, and height are provided as attributes:

 <img src="safhatech.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="160"> 


HTML buttons are defined with the <button> tag:

 <button>Click for action</button> 


HTML lists are defined with the <ul> (unordered/bullet list) or the <ol> (ordered/numbered list) tag, followed by <li> tags (list items):
